Spring...where are you?

Ok, so seriously, where does time go?  The second month of 2011 has flown by just as quick as the first month, and we found ourselves super busy!!!!  We were blessed to have a couple of warm days this month...warm enough to actually melt some snow and let some of the grass peak through, and we took full advantage by getting the kids out for some walking and bike riding.  Actually, it was more like tricycle riding for Eli - knees flared out to the sides as he tried to peddle this teeny tiny trike with his super long legs!!!!  First item on the spring agenda is to buy a big boy bike for that kid!  That little glimpse of grass got spring on our minds and I think that we are now all suffering from cabin fever since Mother Nature decided to drop another foot and a half of snow on us only days after the warm weather!

This month we also celebrated Eli's fourth birthday.  We partied like preschoolers at the Eagan Blast.  Pizza party, cake, ice cream, friends, and an indoor playground.  What more could a four year old ask for?  It was so much fun to see how Eli interacts with his school buddies outside of the structure of the classroom.  Aunt Taylor joined us for the celebration, too, prompting Eli to start planning his next trip to the farm. : )  We are so thankful for all of the friends and family that came to help us celebrate Eli's big day!!

Make a wish!!!!

Below: She pulled herself up in the playpen (which is about the only safe keeping place for her these days since she has already made headway in escaping the crib!
Alex has come up with a new nickname for Lucy.  Scoot.  She still doesn't really crawl.  She scoots.  Man, she is fast, too.  We are in trouble now.  She is into everything.  A couple of her new favorite tasks as of late are:  1.  Cleaning off the book shelves.  2.  "Helping" mommy with laundry.  3.  Erecting and destroying Duplo buildings with brother.

I have no doubt that March, like January and February, is going to be long and snowy.  And, of course, busy.  We already have the first two weeks booked completely.  Ah, such is life.  The silver lining?  The busy-ness will make it go by quickly, and then April will be here with spring showers and park playdates. Fingers crossed. ; )
