New Shoes

Getting shoes with laces was a pretty big deal.  Prior to deciding that he had to have these shoes, Eli was steadfast in his choice to never learn to tie his shoes, because after all "Einstein did not know how to tie shoes", so why should Eli.  I still feel that Pi had a part to play in that thought process.

The deal is, though, that he can not wear these shoes until he can tie them on his own.

It has been a long process.
