I love living in the Twin Cities. No matter what season, there are always things to do here. We recently visited the
Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. It was tons of fun.
They have a special area just for kids - lots of plants, very few "toys" outside of things to help them create with natural resources scattered about, and some education sprinkled in. Completely fabulous.
Did you ever think that your kids could be engaged for a prolonged period of time with just a paintbrush and water? Who says that kids
need toys? Eli said he never had as much fun doing anything as he did playing here and exploring all of the natural spaces.
They also had an area for slightly bigger kids called Under the Oak. Here, there were fairy houses built using natural materials that have fallen from trees (sticks, pine cones, etc.) I decided to have our lunch on this fabulous "bench" (ie, fallen tree).

| A truly special find...a very large, beautiful caterpillar! |
The gardens at the Arboretum are beautiful and we are already planning another trip back in the fall.
